La Promesa "She Persisted" Scholarship

La Promesa "She Persisted" Scholarship is a one-year scholarship for the amount of $2,700. Your scholarship was made possible thanks to the generosity of the Rusche Foundation.

Not Your Average Scholarship

As an HSC scholar, you will not only receive a scholarship, but will also receive access to a network of support that goes beyond HSC to include alumni, sponsors, and community members. Support services included:

  • Membership in an exceptional network of HSC Scholars and Alumni

  • Regular communication and guidance specific for first-generation college students

  • Access to mentors aligned with your academic, professional, and personal goals

  • Eligibility for micro-grants in cases of financial emergencies 

  • Job & internship placement assistance

1. Complete your Award Acceptance Form

To complete this form you'll need a class schedule, your financial aid award letter, and a photo of yourself.

 

2. Let us celebrate you!

Register to attend our Meet the Scholars event on Thursday, August 8th at PBS Austin Studios. Feel free to bring your family or a friend. 

 

3. Join us over on GroupMe & Slack and introduce yourself!

If you aren't already familiar with these platforms, you'll likely see them at school & future workplaces. Our groups are a great introduction to these apps plus a way for us to share job/internship postings, volunteer opportunities, and other resources. 

 

4. Schedule an introductory call with our Executive Director, Ashley Alaniz-Moyer.

During your call, Ashley will go over all the details of your scholarship and when you can expect your funds.
