2012 Scholarship Program

 Empowerment through scholarship, leadership & mentorship. 

HSC is a consortium of several organizations and individuals, so you will find a wide variety of scholarships listed. While you may be selected for more than one program, HSC will only fund one scholarship per awarded applicant per academic year

 

Below is a list of additional scholarship opportunities. Applicants will automatically apply to any one of these scholarships if the information provided on the HSC scholarship matches a requirement of one of the following programs. Please note that scholarship descriptions are requirements and not suggestions.

GENERAL SCHOLARSHIPS

High School Scholarship Program
Open to graduating high school seniors from the Class of 2012.

 

Undergraduate/Postgraduate Scholarship Program
Open to current/returning full-time undergraduate students or students seeking  graduate degrees.

 

Renewal Scholarship Program
Open only to previously funded HSC scholars.


SPECIALIZED SCHOLARSHIPS

HSC Scholarship Renewal Program
Open to current and former HSC scholarship recipients.

AHORA Scholarship
[Funded by Hispanics in Partnership at Applied Materials & HSC]

AHORA prefers applicants with an interest in engineering/technical background attending a Texas college or university.

Alejandro Miguel Solis Scholarship
[Funded by Hispanic Physicians Association & HSC]

The Alejandro Miguel Solis Scholarship prefers applicants actively engaged in the Hispanic Physicians Preceptorship Program at The University of Texas at Austin and those with a commitment to community service.

Anthony Lamanna Scholarship
[Funded by Latinitas & HSC]

Open to graduating high school seniors or university students actively involved in Latinitas Magazine or Latinitas programs. Applicants must submit an additional 500-word essay and conduct 10 hours of community service to Latinitas.

David Andrew Ramirez Scholarship
[Funded by Austin Capital Area Community Leadership Council & HSC]

Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who are current members of the Austin Capital Area Community Leadership Council.

Dolores Catholic Church Montopolis Community Scholarship Fund in Partnership with St. Edward’s University
[Funded by Dolores Catholic Church, St. Edward's University & HSC]

Open to graduating high school seniors residing in Travis County and living within these Montopolis area boundaries: South of the Colorado River, East of Pleasant Valley Road, West of Highway 183 & North of Highway 71. Students should be involved in the church community through parish involvement, leadership training or other activities.

HWNT-Austin Scholarship
[Funded by Hispanic Women's Network of Texas - Austin Chapter & HSC]

Open to females who are graduating high school seniors (Class of 2011) or rising college seniors who will graduate in the spring of 2012.

State Farm: Aim High Scholarship
[Funded by Central Texas State Farm Agents & HSC]

  • Open to applicants planning to attend/attending a Texas college or university.
  • Applicants must pursue a business-related degree (finance, marketing, etc.).
  • Applicants must possess an entrepreneurial interest.

State Representative Irma Rangel Memorial Scholarship
[Funded by Hispanic Bar Association Charitable Foundation & HSC]

  • Open to pre-law students attending Concordia University, St. Edward’s University, Southwestern University, Texas State University or The University of Texas at Austin (all undergraduate degrees qualify).
  • Applicants must be classified as a junior (60-89 hours) or senior (90+hours).
  • Seniors must plan to take the LSAT exam during the 2011-2012 academic year and juniors must plan to take it during the 2012-2013 academic year.
  • Applicants must also submit an additional 500-word essay.
